      Said to have been discovered in 1859, Omachi is an heirloom strain of rice. Omachi rice is used for some of the great sakes in existence and is popular rice to use for sake brewing. Sake made with Omachi rice can be aromatic, rich and complex in nature. Its well-rounded flavour and complex umami make it an excellent brewer's rice.
