Ming Qian has an exquisite taste in sake and is knowledgeable about the best sake in the market. He likes tasting all types of sake!

Ming Qian's Picks (left to right):

1) Hyaku Moku Junmai Daiginjyo Sake

Brilliant in taste with an expansive fruity palette of elegant sweetness with lively acidity, it finishes refreshingly crisp. This sake has won numerous awards too!

" My go to for hosting friends!"

2) Tamano Hikari Reizo Shu Junmai Ginjyo Sake

A delightful mellow touch and full body with a smooth taste~ It is super refreshing and goes well with ALL dishes, making it popular among drinkers.

"Jack of All Trade!"

3) Ohshukubai Gokujoh Umeshu (Plum Wine)

A refreshing plum wine with an enjoyable taste, deep aroma and a lingering sweetness, resulting from adding brandy to the rich taste of plum. Yum!

4) Miwatari Suwa No Fuijin Daiginjyo Sake

Uses 100% premium rice from Nagano prefecture, this daiginjyo sake tastes soft upon first contact with the tongue. Being sized in 375ml, this bottle is slim and exquisite from the outside and provides a luxurious palate.

Charmian is a huge fan of snacks, there isn't a single snack that you know that she doesn't know. So if you want recommendations on snacks, just ask and she will know!

1) Lotte Snow Refreshing Yuzu Sorbet 2L

Not overly citrusy yet you can still taste a sparkle of slight lemon flavour with rich cream. Best to refresh with during hot days in Singapore phew~

"Light and refreshing flavour, a crowd favourite during a party."

2) Daishinshu Kinmon-Nishiki Junmai Daiginjyo Sake

The fragrance of the sake captures you at the start while the sweetness of sake lingers in the mouth. A slightly drier sake but definitely a refined with a well-balanced sake.

"Well balanced taste, not too dry or sweet for a relaxing night."

3) Ginrei Gassan Junmai Jikomi Umeshu

Made from a very rare fruit called the "Yazawa Plum", which is very rare. It has a delicious taste, balanced with sweetness and refreshing acidity. 

"Unique umeshu mixed with a junmai base. Goes well with soda water. Umeshu : Soda - 2 : 1"

4) Kameda Tsu No Edamame Rice Cracker

Want to snack but need to eat healthy?! Try this healthy Japanese snack made with real edamame beans and Japanese domestic rice. Each piece is seasoned and lightly grilled to achieve a crispy and crunchy texture. 

"Crisp light snack to accompany your alcohol of choice. Fragrant edamame in a pack."

For someone who doesn't like to drink sake, it is commendable that Kar Yan has sakes in her list of recommendations. For youngsters or first-timers drinking sake, perhaps you could start off with Okunoto no Shiragiku sakes. Fun Fact: She is the one who drew all these cute portraits of our employees!

1) Hakodate Hokkaido Tomakomai Azuma Hascup (Grape) Wine

A fruit wine made from plentiful hascups (grapes) from the Tomakomai region in Hokkaido. It has acidity, bitterness, and of course the fresh sweetness of grapes!

"You cant go wrong with anything that is grape flavored"

2) Zuiyo Kumamon Cup Sake

Dry but clean with a crisp, refreshing aroma and mellow taste, packed in a cup designed with the popular character "Kumamon" from Kumamoto Prefecture.

"Because...just look at it!! It's CUTE!"

3) Okunoto no Shiragiku Tokubetsu Junmai Sake

This sake has a gentle finish that complements the food it is paired with, instead of overpowering them completely. A mild aroma and clear fruity taste and is carefully brewed with quality soft water and rice.

"As a non-sake lover, I think this sake is still drinkable"

4) Jelly's Grape Gummy Candy

Bite-sized fruity candies that are a bit stiffer and less chewy, somewhat like a jelly bean, but minus the candy shell. Real fruit juice is accentuated with a hint of sugar and you can really taste the grape itself.
